The number of installed photovoltaic systems in Sweden is increasing rapidly, but solar power still accounts for a marginal share of total energy production. Interest in the technology and the long-term potential is great. The EU project "Sol i Syd" aims at stimulating the number of solar investments in Skåne and Blekinge, by further efforts towards the business community.

”Sol i Syd” aims to create opportunities to work to strengthen the solar industry and the increasing interest among architects to integrate solar energy in new buildings, including through skills development. The project will also provide training for companies that want to invest in photovoltaic systems to enhance their skills and client meetings with utility companies to discuss how the information about the rules of engagement can be clarified.

The county administrative boards in Skåne and Blekinge examined the possibilities for regional environmental objectives linked to the share of solar energy and through the annual monitoring of the number of installed photovoltaic plants in Skåne and Blekinge, a current and credible energy statistics communicated and to be followed up.
